A Weekend in Edinburgh
I like to see as many parts of the British Isles as I can but the one place that I had never been to, up until last week, was Scotland. My wife and I had a free weekend last week, and we live in London, and I said to my wife that it was ridiculous that we had never been to Scotland! She said that she thought that it was always cold or wet up there, but I pointed out to her that you could say that about the whole of the British Isles! Britain is never going to be able to sell itself on its weather, but there is so much of interest to see and do, and it is one of the most beautiful and historic nations in the world.
I decided to find out how we could best get up there, and I found some very cheap flights to Edinburgh. I decided that this would be the best way to travel because being on foot in Edinburgh would mean that we would be able to explore by foot.
When we got up there I was quietly pleased that it was a still warm day up in Edinburgh! The city was absolutely beautiful and I couldn’t believe I had waited so long to see it! The main shopping centre was so attractive in comparison to most English cities, and we had some wonderful food up there. All in all we had a wonderful weekend and I would unhesitatingly recommend the place to anyone.
